It’s Jesus That Saves

From Pastor Tim

1 Corinthians 2:1-5

“And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”

If you all did not hear Pastor Shemalya’s message on 6.2.24, I encourage you to go and listen to it. The message hit me like the verses above, because God uses people who don’t think they can be used. These people are humble and only present Jesus because they know that Jesus is the One that saves, while eloquent words do not.

I listened to a portion of a message by Pastor David Yonggi Cho. Pastor Cho described a time after intercession with the church that he stayed behind and called out to the Lord and asked, “Why is the church only at 3000? What am I to do?” The Lord told him, “When I send quail to feed my people, how many quail do you think they would have caught if they had to do it themselves?” Pastor Cho responded, “Not many.” Then the Lord told him, “When I send the wind, there is plenty. Stop trying to do it yourself.”

“But in demonstration of the Spirit and of power […].”  I do believe these messages and Scriptures were for me to hear and obey. They might just be for you too, to allow the Spirit to lead us into plenty.

Love,
Tim
