OUR VISION
Make Disciples to Make Disciples
The term “disciple” means learner or pupil. It is the task of the disciple to learn, study, and pass along the sayings and teachings of the Word of God. The disciple will become increasingly devoted to the Word of God and obedience to God and in time, the disciple would pass on the truth to others. Matthew 28:18-20
Our Beliefs
The Bible
The Bible is God’s Word to people. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.
2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Psalm 119:105
The Trinity
God is the Creator and Ruler of all things. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The three are co-equal and are one God. The doctrine of the Trinity brings together three equally essential biblical truths without denying or diminishing any. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are equally declared throughout Scripture to be God.
Genesis 1:1, Acts 5:3-4, John 14:16, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Romans 1:7, John 14:16
The Father
God the Father is the Father to the fatherless and defender of the widows. God the Father sent forth his Son, Jesus, that we might know God the Father and God the Son and have eternal life. It is the will of God the Father that through Jesus we might be delivered from this present evil age. God the Father has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into those people's hearts who have decided to follow Jesus. God the Father has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.
Psalm 68:5, John 17:3, Galatians 1:3-4, 4:6, Ephesians 1:3
Jesus
Jesus Christ is the only Son of God. Jesus was born of a virgin. Jesus was begotten by the Holy Spirit. He is co-equal with God the Father and has always existed. Jesus was crucified on a cross for all sin and then he resurrected from the dead. It is only through the sacrificial death on the cross of Jesus that man is forgiven. The forgiveness of sin is through the blood of Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone. The only way to the Father is through Jesus. One day Jesus is coming back for the believers.
Isaiah 7:14, Luke 1:34, John 1:1-14; 3:16; 6:54; 14:6, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Ephesians 2:13, Hebrews 4:14-15
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is a Divine Person, equal with God the Father and God the Son. He is an agent in the new birth. He seals, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies, helps, baptizes the believer and through this baptism empowers the believer to be a witness for Jesus. The Holy Spirit distributes his gifts to each believer individually as He wills.
Genesis 1:1-3, Acts 1:5, Romans 8:14, 1 Corinthians 12:11
People
People are made in the image of God. All people are sinners, and it is our sin that separates us from our Creator. People can only be made right by God through Jesus Christ.
Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:3-8, Romans 3:23; 5:1, John 3:16, Revelation 20:15
Salvation
Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but the only way to get it is to accept it. The free gift to us is Jesus Christ, and salvation is through Him only. You cannot be saved by doing good or any other way. God wants every person to accept Jesus as their Savior.
John 3:16; 14:6, Romans 6:23; 5:8, Ephesians 2:8-9, 2 Peter 3:9
Communion
Communion, often times referred to the Lord’s Supper or the Eucharist (which means thanksgiving), emphasizes thanksgiving and the joyful celebration of God’s work for us, in us, through us and in spite of us. Communion represents the powerful manner of the death of Jesus Christ in our place for our sins. Communion calls Christians to put our sin to death in light of the fact that Jesus died for our sins and compels us to examine ourselves and repent of sin before taking it. Communion shows the unity of God’s people around the person and work of Jesus. Communion anticipates our participation in the marriage supper of the Lamb when His Kingdom comes in its fullness.
1 Corinthians 11:23-30
Water Baptism
The immersion of a believer in water symbolizing the complete renewal and change in the believer’s life and testifying to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the way of salvation. Baptism is the first act of obedience after a person is saved.
Matthew 3:13-17, Acts 8:36-39; 9:18; 16:25-33, Romans 6:1-7
Baby/Child Dedication
Child dedication is offering a child to the Lord in whatever the Lord would have this child become. It is also the parents dedicating themselves to the Lord in raising this child in the knowledge of the Lord.
1 Samuel 1:24-28, Luke 2:25, Luke 1:57-80
